Mysore’s Golf Players- Pranavi Urs, Yashas Chandra and Rahul Ganapathy

Pranavi S Urs

Golf is a sport that attracts more players than any other outdoor
sport-one of the reasons is the beautiful surroundings and the
pleasure of being on the course to share this experience amongst
friends and nature. To be able to perform successfully on such a
playing field demands the ability to analyse and adjust to variable
elements as well as the risk-reward factor, altogether making the game
so rewarding or, so humbling. The game is played and partonised in
Mysore at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Course and the JWGC has
played a big part in producing talented golfers in different levels
from time to time with their development programmes. One such product
out of their junior programme is talented golfer Pranavi S Urs, Pranavi S Urs’ exploits in the Indian Golf scene has been remarkable. Pranavi turned professional and has stared her professional career positively by emerging as winner and runner-up in the WPGA circuit tournaments held in 2020 season.

M.S.Yashas Chandra

Mysuru lad M.S.Yashas Chandra, a professional golfer from JWGC, Mysuru, recently taking part in the PGTI Bengal open golf tournament 2018 at Tollygunge club golf course, Kolkata from 12-15th March performed well and finished tied seventh with a four-day aggregate score of 14-under-266 (67+68+63+68). His excellent performance helped him to finish among the top ten players in the tournament.

Yashas Chandra secured the seventh place and won a cash prize of Rs.
75,075.00 for his performance. Bangladesh’s Md.Zamal won the title
with a card of 18-under-262.

Yashas Chandra  taking part in the PGTI Players championship golf tourney
at Classic Golf & county club, Nuh, Harayana finished 13th with a four-day
score of 7-under-281. Taking part in the  Indian Oil Servo masters
golf championship 2018 at Digboi Golf Links, Assam from 21-24th
November 2018, Yashas performed well and finished 20th in the final ranking with a four-day card of two-over-290.
Earlier he had finished fifth in the Take Solutions Jeev Milkha Singh
Invitational golf tournament in Chandigarh.

Yashas Chandra, a product of JWGC, Mysuru, taking part in the Indian Oil
Servo Masters in Assam, finished with a four-day card of two-over-290
(73+72+73+73). He secured the 20th place in the final rankings and won
a cash prize of Rs.58,050/- for his performance.

Earlier, Yashas taking part in the Take Solutions Jeev Milkha Singh
Invitational golf tournament 2018 at Chandigarh golf course from 1-4th
November 2018, finished fifth in the final ranking. This is his second
year as a professional golfer. He was the top amateur golfer in the
country in the men’s section and also represented India in the amateur section before he turned a professional.
Yashas Chandra encouraged by his parents is a hard working golfer. He
intends to work hard in the days to come and aims to be consistent in
the professional golfing circuit in the country in the days to come.

Rahul Ganapathy

Rahul Ganapathy, a former professional golfer, now a professional coach, a product of the JWGC, has done everyone proud with his achievements. He won the National amateur golf championship title.
